Today, it's Winter Solstice. Traditionally, the Dongzhi Festival is a time for the family to get together. Once activity that occurs during these get togethers (especially in the southern parts of China and in Chinese communities overseas) is the making and eating of Tangyuan (汤圆) or glutinous rice balls, which symbolize reunion.
This year, i wanna make something special for my family members. Besides the ordinary round shaped glutinous rice balls, i add in some cute glutinous rice frogs for them. Oh, with these cute froggies in the bowl, the meal looks more tempting. ^_^
Happy Winter Solstice, everyone~ ^o^

Genius Toy Bricks for kids
Recently, i went to Fun n Cheer to look for something for my boys. You know, it's holiday and they all wandering around with nothing to do. They just play, fight, watching TV and sometimes will do their holiday homework (i.e. under my supervision). But they don't have much homework to do, finish all within the first two weeks.
After searching through the entire toys on the rack, i found the Genius Toy Bricks. It allows the kids to build anything with the interesting parts, which similar to the Lego blocks.
We are thinking to get more sets for the kids to build more things according to their creativity. Each set just cost around RM3.80 - RM4.90. What a budget toy for kids ya ^.~

Little Penang Cafe @ The Curve
Penang Island is famous as the food heaven, every Malaysian talk about it will sure drooling for the yummy food. Unfortunately, most of the penang assam laksa, char kuey teow and etc. we found in KL is not so authentic. When i pass by this Little Penang Cafe one day, i'm still wondering whether their food is as nice as the original one? You never try, you never know, right? So, i step in for my food testing journey.
First of all, to justify whether it's origin or not we have to order the Assam Laksa. The presentation looks same, the ingredients is same, then how about the taste? After my first spoonful of the soup, arghh~~ It's the same taste as well! Love the sourness and not too spicy soup, i finish the whole bowl including the soup. *burp burp*
Next, the Lam Mee. The soup/gravy looks different from most of the Lam Mee i have in KL, which is brown in color. Don't judge it by it's pale color of the soup. The soup is surprisingly rich of taste, the noodles is chewy. For those who doesn't consume spicy food, can order this. You won't regret.
Here comes the signature Char Kuey Teow, serves on top a piece of banana leave. It's really a Char Kuey Teow which without the yellow noodle, with prawns, a dash of crab meat. Yes! This is the taste that i'm looking for. One plate is never enough for me ^^
Now i know where to go next time when i craving for Penang food. Haha....

Steamboat @ Home Town, Menjalara
We initially wanna go to Chan Chan Yeong Taufu for dinner. Unfortunately, the parking was full and we park our car nearby the Home Town Steamboat. Kids suddenly say they want to have steamboat, and we haven't try Home Town before, so we just walk in. Here comes our order:-
They serve the porridge soup based in claypot, this is the best way to have our steamboat in claypot because the soup won't over cooked after a long boiling time. ^^
The set consists of prawns, fish noodle, meatballs, taufu, dumpling, veges and etc. The portion is a bit small but the ingredients are fresh.
Those who dining at Home Town Steamboat, dun forgot to try out this special 'fu yu' sauce. It's really nice to serve with the porridge, a very surprise sauce i found here. We can finish the porridge together with this sauce *burp*
