Pameran Raja Kita @ Former Royal Palace, Malaysia

Malaysia's former Royal Palace is open for public with free entrance.  This is an opportunity for children to have a tour to visit the palace especially it's school holidays.

The Palace was originally a double-storey mansion which called the Big House built in 1928 by a local Chinese millionaire, Mr. Chan Wing.  During the Japanese occupation from 1942 - 1945, it was used as the Japanese Governor.  After the surrender of the Japanese on 15th August 1945, the British Military Administration (BMA) commandeered it for a senior military officers mess from the rank of brigadier.  With the formation of the Federation of Malaya in 1950, the building was purchased by the Selangor's State Government at the price of RM150,000.  Then it has been modified and becomes the palace of Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Sir Hishamuddin Alam Shah, Sultan Selangor till the year of 1957.

This beautiful building was then purchased by the federal government with the price of RM1.4 million in year 1957.  The Federal Government then spent RM328,00 in order to convert the residence into the Istana Negara for the newly created sovereign post of Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaya which was about to achieve independence in August as scheduled.

Lunch @ Kensington Western Restaurant, Seremban

After our visit at the Army Museum, we proceed to Seremban to hunt for food.  We initially looking for the japanese food but we get lost in the middle of town.  Then, we accidentally found the Kensington Western Restaurant.  So, here come our lunch here.

It's a corner shop located in Era Square.  You can either choose to dine in an air-conditioned area or open area.  The restaurant itself is spacious and comfy.

The address and location maps

Comfy dining environment

The bar counter

The paintings on the wall

Musical instruments painting

Jasmine Tea @ RM4.50
We just order a cup of Jasmine Tea, the restaurant is serving free flow of water for every diners.

Mushroom soup with Garlic bread
It's considered a wild mushroom soup as we found the soup is full of small chunky mushrooms.  It's not too creamy but fit for me.  Served with a piece of garlic bread, a flavorful garlic + butter, crunchy at the sides and soft in the middle.

Platters Set A @ RM23.80
The platter comes in a big portion!  It consists of garlic breads, honey chicken wings, cold mussels and garlic calamari.  I personally like the mussels which taste sour with tabasco, one bite equals to one mouthful, yummy~

The calamari is just fried in a good timing whereby the squids are not hard, then it sauteed with some garlic and chili.  More to our local style, still taste good at all.

Chicken wings are more likely in pan fried version with honey, sauteed with some garlic.  Nice and good~

Fish & Chips served with a bowl of mushroom soup with garlic bread @ RM13.90
The fish is coated with some bread crumbs and then deep fried.  It's crunchy and best to serve with the designated mayo sauce.

Bolognaise Paste serves with a bowl of mushroom soup with garlic bread @ RM13.90
A juicy bolognaise pasta with chunky tomatoes and chickens.  This dish all whacked by my kids.

Chicken cheese roll with bread crumbs @ RM16.00
Serves with some veges and wedges.  The chicken is wrapped with ham, cheese and bread crumbs, serves with some black pepper sauce.  It's quite tender.

Our getaway ended with this lunch and back to our home sweet home.
