Bento / Kid's Meal (Vol. 3)

By using our existing ingredients, we also can create some cute bento for our kids.  Let's see how we can do it.

The main body:  bread with chocolate cream

Ears: Haw slices 山楂饼

Eyes, mouth and collar: seaweed

Nose and buttons:  M&M or similar chocolate in round shape.

Won't you think it just simple and cute?  We call it "Naughty Mouse".  My kids love it so much. ^o^

Recently, i bought some new bread cutters with cute disney characters.  This is highly recommended to those who wish to make some special bento for their kids in a hurry morning.  Here comes some of the bentos i made for my kids.

Hometown Steam Fish Head Restaurant 陈秀莲蒸鱼头 @ Bandar Menjalara

This is my first visit to this Hometown Steam Fish Head Restaurant located in Bandar Menjalara.  I used to dine at their HQ in Jalan Chan Sow Lin many years ago and quite impressed by their steam fish.

Fried Yau Mak 清炒油麦 @ RM8.00

The fish is fresh comes with a lot of pork lard, but the sauce is a bit mild.  Maybe i should order their home cook style instead of this.  As for the pork, it's crunchy and nice.  My hubby loves the vege too because it's well cooked with enough 'wok hei'.

Bento / Kid's meal (Vol. 1)

Recently, i am totally out of mind of what to cook for kids.  This is the common questions for all mothers.  So, i start looking for some bento book and materials.  Here are some of my presentations.

Kids enjoy their special meals every time and request for more in future.  Ok, ok, i'll try my best to make more for you all.  ^o^

Kafe Mee Jawa @ Solaris Dutamas

It's hardly to get a bowl of nice mee jawa nearby my area.  Today, when i pass by this shop called Kafe Mee Jawa, i just hop in to give it a try.

This is a small cup of Teh Panas, smooth and fragrant.  It's light up my day. ^^

Mee Jawa (Mini bowl) served with a cup of Teh @ RM6.90 per set

I like the Mee Jawa here, medium thick soup with some sotong cook in belacan.  Not too spicy but rich in flavour.  Yummy~

Lam Mee (Mini bowl) served with a cup of Teh @ RM5.90 per set

The special of this Lam Mee is it's comes with some vinegar marinated garlic, very refreshing.

Nasi Lemak bungkus served with a cup of Teh @ RM3.90 per set

The rice is just fresh from the rice cooker with a lot of peanuts, ikan bilis, 1/2 hard boiled egg and of course must have the sambal.

I think this is one of the most budgeting cafe around Solaris Dutamas.  They do have assam laksa, prawn noodle and other asian cuisines.  Hope can make a time to try out the others in future.

Rakuzen @ Desa Park City

Talking about Rakuzen, it's one of the well known Japanese dining restaurant in Malaysia.

It's a cold somen with cold clear soup, shrimps, eggplant and etc.  I like the somen which is so tender and very refreshing while having it in a hot afternoon.  Thumbs up~

Toro Salmon Sushi (RM6.00) and Otoro Sushi (RM16.00) 

The most expensive sushi i ever have, but it's nice and fresh.  Nice~

Saba Shioyaki Zen @ RM22.00

Love the saba fish, crunchy skin with juicy and soft meat inside.  A highly recommended meal! ^^

Chicken Katsu Curry Rice @ RM26.00

I like the thick curry gravy which not too sweet and not too spicy.  The crunchy chicken taste better by dipping into the gravy.  Yumz~

I like the vegetable and mushroom noodle soup which have a strong mushroom taste, a very clear soup.  The price is a bit higher compare to those we are having at the coffee shop.
